On 12 October 2023, we invited 75 babies to an exclusive preview of our replica of Lea Road Infant Welfare Centre, originally located in Wolverhampton. 75 was chosen as 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of both the arrival of MV Empire Windrush and the formation of the National Health Service. The babbies, from across all four regions of the Black Country, were invited along to explore the new building and meet our historic characters. Designated by Arts Council England for the quality and national significance of its collections, it attracted over 300,000 visitors in 2022.
